Friends of the School

Welcome to the Friends of St Anne’s (FOSA)

We add information to update you on events and fundraising and how the money has been spent to benefit our school and our children. We also produce a Friend’s of St Anne’s Newsletter every month.

What is Friends of St Anne’s

Friends of St Anne’s is in essence a PTA (Parent Teachers Association). A PTA is a formal organisation composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in their school.

Why do we need a PTA?

St Anne’s School is deemed to be in a non-deprived area, so funding is set at a lower level. So, if we need new reading corners for the classrooms we need to generate the funding, if we would like to hold a school disco, we need to generate the income to do that too… So, in essence all the additional ‘nice  things’ that the children would enjoy and benefit from, we need to give a helping hand – to ensure all our children experience and benefit from these little extras!

How can I get involved?

Friends of St Anne’s is very much an INCLUSIVE PTA rather than exclusive club! We would like all parents to get involved, in generating ideas, fundraising, supporting events to benefit our main goal, a fulfilling and beneficial environment for all of our children to develop and grow.

What commitment do you need?

As a parent we all have very busy lives, children, work, ageing parents and other commitments…
So, all we ask is to get involved, whether it’s to help with an event, baking a cake, suggesting new ideas, it all helps OUR CHILDREN.
