Welcome to the Safety Superhero page
At St Anne’s the children are always thinking of new ways to keep safe. There are lots of questions within safety about the world we live in. The Safety Superhero team meet and discuss these queries.
So far this year, we have been lucky to have many visits by safety superheroes out in the world. These have included firefighters, the railway safety team and the NSPCC to discuss ChildLine.
Every class was visited by the rail safety team. In KS1 Jess read a story to the different classes about being safe on railways. The children then got to have an opportunity to build some railways. Every child was lucky enough to receive a story to take home. In KS2, Jess quizzed the children on what they already knew about the importance of being safe on and around railways. KS2 improved their knowledge on rail safety facts by 42% on average!
On the 18th April 2024, Year 2, 5 and 6 were lucky enough to have a visit from the NSPCC. The two ladies talked about how to keep children safe and introduced them to Buddy and the Childline number and website. The children received a pack where they were able to label their safe people, items and places.
Hopefully there will be more safety visits from people soon.
St Anne’s Safety Superheroes created a firework safety competition. There were lots of entries and Miss Steadman found it very difficult to choose 3 winners. However, the winners were in Year 5, Year 3 and Year 2.
All children did a fantastic job creating the posters!
Well done St Anne’s!
