Welcome to the Right2Be Team page
St Anne’s is committed to providing child-centred learning within a Christian context as a partnership between home and school. Central to our school’s vision and values is an approach which respects rights for all, with this being both integral to, and supportive of, our Christian ethos.
Jesus welcomed children to himself- they were important, precious in his sight and he valued them. We believe that we are all God’s children and that we are all equal in his sight. He calls each one of us by name and as such, we are called to love and serve him and one another.
Ephesians 2 v10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
“We are God’s masterpiece”
Our Right2Be Team is the group which works on children’s rights. They team members were chosen by each class, with children voting for individuals whom they trust to work for and uphold rights for everyone. The team are keen to work together to improve knowledge and understanding of rights within school, to ensure access to rights is available to all and to ensure our whole school community is united in advocating for rights for all.
The Team worked together to produce an action plan for the school year.
Statement of intent:
As a member of the Right 2 Be Team we are here to support our school community to learn about children’s rights and to put them into practice every day. We will work with both the children and the adults in our school to promote children’s rights. We will work towards improving the wellbeing, participation, relationships and self-esteem of our school community.

The Right2Be Team meet regularly to discuss ideas and plan how to move forward.
In Autumn Term, the Right2Be Team met and discussed what the group was for, what it aimed to do and, broadly, how to do it. Following this, the team created their Action Plan.
Right 2 Be Team Action Plan 2023 – 2024
In Spring Term, the team chose to begin their work by finding out what children in St Anne’s knew and understood about their rights. To do this, each class was surveyed, with Right2Be team members asking questions to find out what the children knew. These results helped them to plan how to move forward.
They also looked at the ‘United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child’ and chose a right to focus on which they feel is important to all of our school community. They also had some initial ideas about what to do.
They chose Article 24:
Children have the right to the best health care possible, clean water to drink, healthy food and a safe environment to live in. All adults and children should have information about how to stay safe and healthy.
In Summer Term the Right2Be Team met and have started to plan a worship, some competitions, how to interview some relevant people and how to deliver some information for children and parents.
