Our Curriculum

You can find out further information about our curriculum and our curriculum plans on our website. View the End of Year Expectations booklet which provides information for parents and carers on the end of year expectations for children in our school. The National Curriculum outlines these expectations as being the minimum requirements your child must meet in order to ensure continued progress.

Ukulele lessons

On Monday 21st September, Year 4 began ukulele lessons with Mrs Coulls, our peripatetic music teacher, from Durham Music Service.

The children were very excited to be learning to play an instrument and Mrs Coulls was super impressed at their positive attitude and listening skills. The lesson began with a listening game around pitch and rhythm and some basic information about the different parts of the ukulele.

Then the children played some notes using a rhyme to help them remember which string was which! This week, they were learning about chords and had a try at playing the C chord. Everyone is enjoying their ukulele lessons!
