Every year, St Anne’s celebrates a special day of gathering, prayer and reflection in school called Prayer Space Day. Our aim is to enable our children to explore life’s questions, spirituality, and faith in a safe, creative, and interactive way.
Children are naturally curious about life: the good, the bad, the deeper questions of purpose and meaning that are part of growing up and spiritual things like God and prayer too. Prayer spaces give pupils an opportunity to reflect on these themes in a creative and interactive environment that is inclusive and welcoming of all.
Summer 2025 prayer spaces included:
- Thankful Ducks – think about all that you are thankful for
- Peace Doves – send peace to those who need peace and think about what peace means to you
- Pipe Cleaner People – thank God for the special people in your life
- Cardboard Homes – ask God to help those around the world who do not have a safe place to call home
- Pray for the World – think about and discuss current issues around the world and ask God to pray for those he need our love and support
- Sorry Sand – we all have times that we need to say sorry and times we need to forgive others
We were joined by Reverend Brett, members of St Anne’s Church and adults and children from the whole school for a wonderful day of prayer, reflection, spirituality and thanksgiving in our fabulous outdoor space.
“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths” (Psalm 25:4-5) “You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem”
