As a school body, the main focus and responsibility of all stake holders is to ensure that pupils demonstrate Christian values in their lives and relationships with others and to help people to flourish. Here at St Anne’s we want to take this beyond the school gates and in to the wider community.
We are proud to be part of our local community and aim to provide opportunities for children across the school to active in our local area and support community initiatives.
We have strong links with Woodhouse Close Church and Community Centre. We support their food bank and annual Christmas toy appeal. We also raise funds for our local Butterwick hospice with an annual Reindeer Run and have raised funds to support the opening of the community pantry at The Angel Trust.
We are regular visitors to the churches of St Anne’s and St Andrew’s as part of celebrations and the curriculum but also to participate in community services. Out Year 6 pupils lead a community Christmas service in St Anne’s each year and we always participate in the St Anne’s Christmas tree festival.
The pupils choose to support a number of national charities each year and fundraising events are held in school. These include: Children in Need, Red Nose Day, Save The Children Christmas Jumper Day and Macmillan.
